Phi Phi Beach Resort - Morong, Bataan

Phi Phi Beach Resort Morong, Bataan

Beach side
It was our first time to travel to a beach resort just the two of us to spend our anniversary. For some reasons, it was moved to May 3-5. With only a limited budget to take a plane and go somewhere far from Manila. We chose to spend our free time in Bataan.
Having a limited knowledge on the place, I took the liberty to search a good place to stay through internet.
Morong Bataan catched our attention. There are several resorts out there but we just relied on the reviews over the internet.

This blog has been very helpful before we booked there
kianah.com

Getting the information to get there had been difficult for us since there were few information can be found in the internet and some of our friends doesn't really know how to get there.

From a few help from others, here are the things you need to know for commute.

There's no direct bus from Manila to Morong, Bataan as of this writing. I really hope there was.

From Manila, take a bus to Olongapo (VICTORY), much better if you can take SCTEX because it's more convinient and it make your travel faster.

From Olongapo, take a yellow jeep going to SBMA gate 2 near Gordon Hospital or SM olongapo.

Then wait at the bridge and take the mini bus to Morong Bataan. The ride takes Roughly 40mins to 1 hour and cost you 45 pesos per pax. Ask the conductor to drop you off to Lotto outlet, Morong Town.

Once you're there, ride a tricyle going to Phi Phi beach resort or other resorts residing on that area. Actually, you can spend 10-15 mins to get there from the lotto outlet. But if you're tired enough to walk, just take the tricycle.

We haven't been to Balanga, Bataan. So i'm not familiar with the direction

We booked for Veranda. It has Air condition, cable TV, Private CR, Hot and cold shower, soap, tissue and bath towel. Their main pool is just beside our room and still clean on our first day. And they do have WIFI with great connection :)

Since we went there straight from our night shifts and haven't had a good sleep, so first day was spent just for us to rest.

On our second day, breakfast is not free unlike what other resorts were offering. Confident enough that it's a little bit pricey than what you can find in carinderias but we still availed them. However, we were really surprised with the amount we paid.

First, I asked their crew for the menu but she refused to present their laminated menu. Instead, she just offered the food which can be served quickly. We were confident that our bill may just reach around 200-250 pesos for tapsilog and hotsilog plus 2 coffees.
After we finished our food, we were surprised that it cost us 505 pesos?!! When i checked the reciept, Tapa was 195 and hotdog was 150. Take note rice was not included. Rice was 45 pesos each and 3in1 coffee was 20 pesos. And for the first time, the drinking water was not free. It's only free during buffet. Really wondering when this can happen.

What i did was, I talk to thier crew. A little bit of charm and fun conversation and i convienced her as I get a free water to drink with "Haste". I think we got 3-4 glasses of water.

Water was really helpful to digest our food. But we were really disappointed with their services.

With also the help of the crew, we learned that there are carinderias near the place. It will take you 10-15 mins of walking. Carinderias are everywhere and we just noticed that it was also the place where we rode a tricycle going to the resort.

For 120 pesos, Sinigang na baboy and Chicken liver made our stomachs full plus softdrinks for lunch.

Before we get back to resort, we bought some food that will last for 2 days just avoid further expenses in the resort. To avoid corkage, we brought along our eco bag so we can hide our food :P
We were so tired to eat for dinner because our whole activity was spent just for swimming in the pool and also at the beach.

Beach was quite good, it was clean but not the beach you would expect like white sand beaches.
The pool was also clean and pretty. At that time we thought we own the pool because we were the only people who swam there. Good thing we already used the pool because latter that day it was used by several people who conducted their team building at the resort.

The water had been so dirty and the color turned to green. Creepy!

On that day, we also bumped with some fishermen who offered us pawikan and snorkling adventure for 500 pesos. We were so curious because it was our first time in Bataan.

Forget about pawikan adventure except if it's time to free some small pawikans.
For snorkling, well, we've been in Bohol, Cebu, Pagudpud and Coron. We just don't recommend it. Although you can still catch some colorful fishes but corals are dead. The snorkling gears are waste. Water can freely pass inside the goggles.

We really believe it's better to visit Ocean park in Manila Bay.

Overall, we would say that we will go back to the Resort except for their food and the snorkling activities. The staff are very polite and accomodation especially Ms. Keizie whom i talked with when we booked there.

If you're lucky enough, you can catch a glimpse of the sunset. Well for us, we were not that lucky because the sky was gloomy and everytime we travel there's always a day that rain will fall
